The private driver for international visitors

About Chauffeurz, a London Chauffeur Company Built Around the Visitor

Most people arriving in London for the first time are not worried about the badge on the bonnet. They are worried about whether anyone will be waiting if the flight lands two hours late, whether the price will change on the way into town, and whether they will understand the driver. We built this business around those questions rather than around the cars.

What that means on the day

  • A fixed price, agreed before you travel. No meter, no surge, no fee for paying by card.
  • Your flight is tracked. If it lands late, your chauffeur waits, and the sixty free minutes start from the wheels touching the ground.
  • A named chauffeur, not a stranger from an app, meeting you inside the terminal with a board.
  • The same driver can stay with you for the airport run, the city, and the day out to Stonehenge.

A London chauffeur company built around the visitor

Chauffeurz is a London chauffeur company licensed by Transport for London, working almost entirely with people who do not live here. Visitors from the United States and Canada, from Australia and New Zealand, from Brazil, Mexico and Argentina, and from the Gulf. That focus shapes everything, because a visitor needs different things from a Londoner.

A resident already knows which station to use and what a fair fare looks like. A visitor landing after eleven hours in the air knows neither, and is in the worst possible position to negotiate. We price and operate on the assumption that our passenger has no local reference point and should not need one.

The five things visitors worry about, and what we do about each

The price changing. Your fare is fixed when you book and shown before you pay. There is no meter, no surge multiplier and no charge for paying by card. Road charges such as the Congestion Charge are shown separately and passed on at cost.

Nobody being there if the flight is late. We track your flight from the number you give us. Your chauffeur adjusts to the actual landing time, and the complimentary hour of waiting begins then, not at the time originally printed on your ticket.

Not knowing who is driving. Your chauffeur is named and licensed, and is confirmed to you in advance. Every driver holds a Transport for London private hire licence, which requires an enhanced background check before it is issued.

Safety, particularly travelling alone or with children. Licensed vehicle, licensed driver, insured for passengers and third parties, journey recorded against your booking. Child seats are arranged when you tell us the ages at the time of booking.

Language. Our dispatch team handles bookings in seven languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian, German and Arabic. You can arrange your journey in your own language before you land.

The people who drive you

We work through a network of hundreds of licensed chauffeur partners across London and the wider United Kingdom. That structure is deliberate. It lets us put the right vehicle and the right person on a job at four in the morning in December, which no small owned fleet can do reliably.

What matters is who gets accepted into that network. Before a partner carries a passenger for us we verify the private hire driver licence against the licensing authority record, confirm the vehicle licence and insurance, and confirm identity and right to work. Licences are re verified at renewal.

Why a London chauffeur company rather than an app

An app allocates the nearest available car. We allocate a person to a passenger. On an airport arrival that difference is the whole product: someone who knows which exit your terminal uses, who waits without complaint when baggage reclaim goes wrong, and who can answer a question about the city on the way in.

Twelve vehicle categories, from budget to ultra premium

Our network offers twelve vehicle categories. Budget covers Saloon, Estate, MPV and Eight Seater. Executive covers Saloon, MPV and Eight Seater. First Class covers Saloon and MPV. Luxury covers Saloon, SUV and the Mercedes Benz Senzati Jet Class.

This range is unusual. Most premium operators start at Executive and stop, which means a family watching the budget is pushed towards a taxi rank, and a client wanting something exceptional is told no. You can book a straightforward saloon for two on Monday and a Senzati for a client on Friday, from the same account, at a price fixed in advance. See the full vehicle range and capacities.

Beyond transfers: private journeys across Britain

A transfer gets you from the aeroplane to the hotel. It is the day afterwards that people remember. We run private journeys to Stonehenge, Windsor, Bath, Oxford, Cambridge, Canterbury and the Cotswolds, in your own vehicle, on your own timetable.

These are driver led rather than guided. Your chauffeur knows the roads, the timings and where to stop, and will happily tell you what they know. Where you want formal interpretation at a site, a qualified Blue Badge Guide can be added. No coach queues, no fixed departure time, no strangers on board, and a price set for your group rather than per seat. Browse the full list of private journeys.

Our base, minutes from Heathrow

We operate from 450 Bath Road, West Drayton, UB7 0EB, on the northern perimeter of Heathrow Airport. Sitting beside the busiest international airport in Europe is not a vanity address. It means shorter positioning times on the runs we do most, and a team that knows each terminal rather than reading about them.

From there we cover ten airports, six cruise ports including Southampton and Dover, six London rail termini, and more than thirty city connections across the country. Start with the Heathrow transfer page if that is where you land.

Licensed, insured and accountable

Chauffeurz Premium Services Ltd holds Transport for London operator licence number 010942. You can confirm it yourself on the TfL licence checker, and we would encourage you to check any operator you are considering, not only us.

Licensing is not a decoration. It means the operator is vetted, the vehicles are inspected, the drivers hold enhanced background checks, and there is a regulator to complain to if something goes wrong. An unlicensed arrangement offers none of that, whatever the price looks like.

Our commercial terms, our handling of your data and our position on labour practices are all published rather than summarised. Read the Terms and Conditions before you book if you would like to know exactly what you are agreeing to.

Questions visitors ask

Do I need to tip the chauffeur?

No. Tipping is not expected in the United Kingdom in the way it is in the United States. The fare you agreed is the whole amount. If you would like to recognise particularly good service you are welcome to, but nobody will be offended if you do not.

What happens if my flight is delayed or diverted?

A delay is handled automatically, because we track the flight. A diversion or cancellation is different, so contact us as soon as you can and we will rearrange rather than leave a car sitting at the wrong airport.

Can I book for someone else?

Yes. Many of our bookings are made by a colleague, a travel agent or a family member. Give us the passenger's name and mobile number so the chauffeur can reach them on arrival.

Can the same chauffeur stay with us for several days?

Yes. Multi day hire places one vehicle and one chauffeur at your disposal for the length of your stay, at a fixed daily rate. It is the usual choice for families and for anyone with a full diary.

Are prices shown in my currency?

Quotes are given in pounds sterling, and the booking form can display and take payment in other major currencies so that you know the cost before you commit rather than after your statement arrives.

What is the difference between a London chauffeur company and a taxi or an app?

A London chauffeur company assigns a named, licensed driver to a journey booked in advance, at a price fixed before you travel. A taxi is hailed and metered. An app allocates whichever car happens to be nearest, at a price that rises with demand. On an airport arrival the practical difference is simple: somebody is waiting inside the terminal for you specifically, holding a board with your name on it.
