When to Visit

Spring and early summer are ideal. May Week (paradoxically held in June) sees college balls, punting parties and Bumps races on the Cam. Christmas Eve's Nine Lessons and Carols at King's Chapel is one of the world's most sought-after tickets. Peak tourist crowds arrive June through August; a private chauffeur bypasses parking chaos at Grand Arcade and Park Street.

Chauffeur or Train?

The Greater Anglia train from Liverpool Street or King's Cross is fast (50min-1h 10min station-to-station). But add a taxi to the London station, buffer time, and a Cambridge taxi from the station to your college or hotel — the door-to-door total often reaches 2 hours. For a family with luggage, a small group, or anyone bound for one of the outlying colleges (Girton, Homerton, Churchill), a chauffeur is faster in real minutes and always more comfortable.

Is a chauffeur faster than the Greater Anglia train?

Station-to-station the train wins at 50 minutes to 1h 10min. But add taxi to London station, buffer, and taxi from Cambridge station to your college or hotel — total is often 2 hours. A chauffeur runs 1h 30min door-to-door with luggage handled and drop-off directly at your college gate.

Can we stop at Stansted, Duxford or Audley End on the way?

Yes. Stansted Airport is directly on the M11 (natural pickup or drop-off). Duxford Imperial War Museum is a short exit off the M11 (2-3 hours for a visit). Audley End House adds around 90 minutes. Parking included at all reasonable stops.

Do you offer return transfers London to/from Cambridge?

Yes. We operate both directions daily. Book one-way in either direction, or a round trip for a preferred rate. Popular during matriculation, graduation and May Week (June) with families of Cambridge students.

Can I combine the transfer with a London airport pickup or drop-off?

Certainly. Cambridge to Stansted (25min, on the route), Heathrow (1h 45min), Gatwick (2h 15min), Luton (1h) or London City. Flight tracking included at no extra charge, so we're waiting inside arrivals with a name board even if your flight is delayed.
