STATION'S MOST PHOTOGRAPHED FEATURE
Visit Platform 9¾, the World-Famous Station Attraction
Halfway down the main King's Cross concourse, near the Marks and Spencer store, a half-embedded luggage trolley sits permanently mounted in the wall beneath a black cast-iron sign reading Platform 9¾. This official installation is the result of a 1999 partnership between Network Rail and Warner Bros, marking the fictional location where the Hogwarts Express is boarded in the celebrated novels and films.
Since installation, over four million photographs have been taken at the spot each year, making Platform 9¾ one of London's most Instagrammed locations. On weekends and school holidays, a small queue forms, and official staff hand out scarves in Hogwarts house colours and take photographs for a small fee. Adjacent to the trolley sits the licensed Harry Potter Shop, selling authorized merchandise and memorabilia.
For international arrivals travelling with children (or nostalgic adults), the trolley photo stop takes 5-15 minutes depending on queue length. Combined with a brief walk to see the historic King's Cross concourse and Great Northern Hotel, this makes a memorable London welcome moment before your chauffeur onward transfer.
Family Photo Stop at Platform 9¾
Travelling with children? On request, your chauffeur pauses at the Platform 9¾ trolley for family photographs, on the way to or from your onward booking. Complimentary with Executive tier and above.
